How often should I get a facial? I recommend getting a facial every 4-6 weeks. This aligns with the skin's natural cell turnover cycle, and consistent treatments help to maintain healthy, glowing skin and address specific concerns.
What's the best treatment for my skin type/concerns? This is one of the most common and important questions. I will access your skin and review your homecare. I may or may not make additional recommendations for homecare as well as suggested facial treatments and/or treatment plan.
Should I stop using certain products before my appointment? Yes! Please stop using products with active ingredients like retinol, AHAs, or BHAs a few days before a facial or more intensive treatment to prevent irritation.
Will I break out after a facial? Some clients may experience a "purge" after a facial, especially if they have a lot of congestion under the skin. This is a normal, temporary reaction as the skin clears out impurities.
Are extractions painful? While extractions can cause some discomfort, they should not be overly painful. I do my best to properly prep the skin to make the process as gentle and effective as possible.
What's the difference between Microdermabrasion and Dermaplane? What I tell my clients is they are both advanced treatments with a bit deeper exfoliation. The main difference is Dermaplane removes the vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the face, leaving the skin soft, smooth and makeup goes on flawless!
What's the best way to care for my skin at home? A consistent at-home skincare routine. I will recommend specific professional products and a regimen tailored to your skin type and goals to maintain results between visits.
Do I still need to wear sunscreen indoors or on a cloudy day? Yes, absolutely. I recommend a mineral based sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. This is non-negotiable!
How can I get rid of dark spots or acne scars? Hyperpigmentation and post-acne marks are common concerns. I will recommend a combination of in-office treatments like chemical peels, microneedling, or microdermabrasion, along with at-home products containing ingredients like vitamin C or mandelic acid.
How long will the results of my treatment last? The longevity of results depends on the type of treatment and the client's at-home care. I go over realistic expectations and often suggest a series of treatments to achieve and maintain long-term results.
